Waistband and back yoke are significant terms of jeans which gives jeans the look and comfort. They both can’t be neglected by the manufacturers. This is a technical article but you will have a glimpse ahead about both the terms in denim jeans.
Waist band is like a band encircling the waist, especially as a part of a skirt or pair of trousers, jeans. The waistband can be extended or altered as per the jeans and waistband attached. A wider waistband is more preferred.
The yoke or the riser,’ is the V-shaped section at the back of jeans, which give jeans their curved seat. The deeper the V, the greater the curve. The yoke is a reinforced section under the waistband. Hence, to make the jeans fit properly, the waist overall would feature a yoke that made the garment wider in the hips, yet cinched inwards towards the waist.
Now, the back yoke allows designers to play with perceptual illusions that, if used for the right cause, can enhance your look which will be appealing and alluring. The back yoke can be Inverted Arc, Straight, “V” Shape, Sweet Heart, Extra Wide, No Yoke etc. The size and shape of the back yoke directly affects the size and placement of the rear pockets, and this, as we know, is pivotal.
